In Hebrew, they call this tiny image the “little man of the eye.” It is like a little doll, puppet, or marionette. If you could look into God’s eyes, you would see a reflection of yourself. This is because God watches over you because He loves you. You are the apple of God’s eye (Deuteronomy 32:10, Psalm 17:8, Proverbs 7:2, Zechariah 2:8).

  • Jesus is the true light.

2) Open Up

Key Words: beloved, open, heart, home, ladder, love

Key Points:

  • John is called the beloved disciple.
  • John opened his heart to Jesus and his home to Mary.
  • On God’s ladder of love, you help others climb closer to God.
  • Let us love one another.

3) Veer & Steer

Key Words: veer, steer, first love, Patmos, Ephesus, alone, beloved, apple, eye

Key Points:

  • We need to veer and steer in the direction of God’s love.
  • John got a better understanding of God’s love when he was on the island of Patmos.
  • Sometimes when we feel all alone, Jesus is there for us in an extra-special way.
  • John saw himself as dearly loved by Jesus.
  • If you could look into God’s eyes, you would see a reflection of yourself. You are the apple of His eye!

4) Love Everyone

Key Words: love, Lord, neighbor, everyone, all, be loved, puzzle

Key Points:

  • Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
  • Love your neighbor as yourself.
  • God’s love never fails.
  • You can be a lot of things in life, but the most important things is to be loved by God.
  • God’s love helps us fit together and be loved together.

  • Daniel chose to eat healthy.

2) Exercise

Key Words: Samson, strength, exercise, godly training

Key Points:

  • Samson should have protected the gift of strength God gave him.
  • Train yourself to be godly.
  • Physical exercise is good for our life here on earth.
  • Training to be godly benefits us on earth as well as someday in heaven.

3) Medicine

Key Words: woman, doctors, medicine, Great Physician, vitamin G, cheerful heart

Key Points:

  • The woman knew if she could get one touch from Jesus, she would be healed.
  • When doctors can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong and the medicine doesn’t help, Jesus can step in and do a miracle.
  • Jesus is the Great Physician (or the Great Doctor).
  • Vitamin G is your daily dose of the Word of God.
  • A cheerful heart is good medicine.

4) Rest

Key Words: Eutychus, sleep, rest, celebrate, church

Key Points:

  • Even when we fall asleep, God never sleeps.
  • God was watching over Eutychus.
  • God’s rest is the best!
  • On the seventh day God rested.
  • The most exciting rest is when we rest from our weekly activities, so we can come together and celebrate the Lord!

  • Joseph traveled back to his hometown of Bethlehem for the census.
  • There are benefits and obligations because of our heavenly citizenship.
  • Mary placed Jesus in a manger after He was born.
  • Jesus learned to be a carpenter from Joseph.

2) The Shepherd

Key Words: shepherds, angels, wise men, sheep, voice, Good Shepherd

Key Points:

  • The youngest boy in the family usually became the official family shepherd.
  • God chose to reveal the news about Jesus to simple, humble shepherds.
  • The Magi may have been smart men, but they truly became wise men when they brought gifts to Baby Jesus.
  • The sheep know their shepherd’s voice and follow him when he calls.
  • Jesus is the Good Shepherd.

3) The Lamb

Key Words: Passover, lamb, Lamb of God, worthy, treasure, ponder, heart

Key Points:

  • Jesus asked Peter and John to prepare the Passover table.
  • Peter and John learned that Jesus was the Lamb of God.
  • Jesus is worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise!
  • Mary treasured up things in her heart about her Son, Jesus.

4) The Way

Key Words: praise, glory, angels, shepherds, way

Key Points:

  • The angels were praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest.”
  • The shepherds returned glorifying and praising God.
  • If you don’t have anything to give, you can always give God glory and praise just like the shepherds did.
  • Jesus is the only way to the Father in heaven.

Key Points:

  • God’s strengthening grace gives us energy, inspires us to live for Him, and helps us through tough times.
  • God helped Paul through many difficult situations.
  • The joy of the Lord is your strength.
  • Prayer, praise, giving, reading the Bible, and sharing Jesus will help us grow stronger spiritually.

3) Sharing

Key Words: share, grace, give, Dorcas, Peter, faith, Jesus, through

Key Points:

  • God’s sharing grace meets our needs, helps us give joyfully to others, and keeps us from being selfish.
  • Dorcas shared things with poor people.
  • God loves us so much that He gave us His Son, Jesus.
  • Sharing grace is God being generous to us and through us.

4) Serving

Key Words: serve, grace, wait tables, widows, food, church, home, gladness

Key Points:

  • God’s serving grace helps us serve Him and others.
  • Serving grace helps us be productive.
  • The seven men made sure the widows received food each day.
  • We can serve God at church, at home, and wherever we happen to be.
  • Serve the Lord with gladness.

                   -Foam Boards
                   -Scissors
                   -Craft Glue
                   -Googly Eyes
                   -Band Aids®
                   -Crafts Sticks
1) Cut fruit shapes (You can draw pattern first if you like)
2) Cut out square mouth. Be sure to make mouth slightly smaller (TRIM EDGES).
3) Glue Mouth only to craft stick.
4) Attach band aid to back of fruit.
5) Slide craft stick into band aid gap.
6) Cut out another small strip for holding the puppet with finger. Attach that with two more band aids.
7) Decorate fruit and have FUN!
